Only 2 weeks left

Only 2 weeks until the election. Time really flies by when you are trying to knock on 10,000 doors…but I’m having a great time meeting voters and talking about the issues affecting South Carolina families.

At nearly every home I visit, I hear the same concerns:

1. WE’VE GOT TO SLASH TAXES. We must take the tax burden off South Carolina’s working families. Putting money back in taxpayers’ pockets energizes our economy and strengthens business. As State Senator, I will push to lower the income tax on individuals and private businesses in South Carolina. This will give families more money to spend, spurring our economy, and creating jobs.

2. EDUCATION IS A TOP PRIORITY. I know that public schools succeed when money is spent on actually educating our children. That means getting money out of bureaucracy and into the classroom. As State Senator, I will demand that money be used more effectively and efficiently. I will hold our education department accountable for every dollar spent, and I will work to get money out of administration and into the classroom to hire more teachers and decrease teacher/student ratios.

3. ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IS OUT OF CONTROL. Illegal immigrants take advantage of our health care, education, welfare, and retirement systems all on the back of hard-working taxpayers. I want to allow SLED to work with federal officials to investigate and arrest illegal immigrants in the state; make it a felony to knowingly harbor or transport illegal immigrants; and require companies doing business with state and local governments to verify their employees legal status.
