About Shane
Shane Massey is the State Senator for Aiken, Edgefield, McCormick, and Saluda Counties. He ran for the State Senate with a promise to work as hard as possible to shake up the status quo in Columbia. Energetic and passionate about public service, he’s ready to do the hard work it takes to hold state government accountable.
A graduate of Strom Thurmond High School, Clemson University, and the USC School of Law, Shane works as an attorney in Aiken. He and his wife Blair live in Edgefield.
Shane works hard for the community, having served as Chairman of Edgefield County’s First Steps Board and as a mentor and tutor at Johnston-Edgefield-Trenton Middle School. He and Blair are attorney coaches for the award-winning mock trial team at Strom Thurmond High School. Additionally, Shane is an active member of the Aiken SERTOMA Club, the Johnston Lions Club, the Edgefield County United Way, the Johnston Development Board, and the Upper Savannah Council of Government’s Board of Directors.
Shane and Blair attend Providence Baptist Church in Johnston. Blair is president of Providence’s WMU and coordinates Children’s Church on Sunday mornings. Shane has taught several Sunday School classes and currently serves his church as a Deacon.
Shane and Blair are expecting their first baby, a girl, in late September 2008.
